National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH)

Preservation Assistance Grants (PAG): Preservation Assistance Grants help small and mid-sized organizations preserve and manage humanities collections. This program focuses on foundational activities in preservation and management of collections, such as assessments, development of plans and policies, consultations with scholars and source communities, emergency preparedness, environmental monitoring, rehousing, format surveys and inventories, and training in preservation and collections management. The maximum award amount is $10,000, with no match required. The project period is roughly eighteen months. For more information click the link below.

Sustaining Cultural Heritage Collection Grants: Sustaining Cultural Heritage Collection Grants are meant to help cultural institutions, including libraries, archives, museums, and historical organizations, achieve an improvement in conditions. There are three levels of funding through this program, Planning, Implementation I, and Implementation II. The maximum amount awarded to Planning grants is $50,000, and the grant timeline is up to two years. Implementation I grants can be for up to two years, with a maximum award of $100,000. The maximum amount awarded to an Implementation II project is $350,000, with a grant timeline of up to three years. For more information click the link below.

Climate Smart Humanities Organizations Grant: The Climate Smart Humanities Organizations Grant, helps humanities organizations to anticipate operational, physical, and financial impacts of climate-related events on their institutions, while also reducing their own impact on the environment. Individual organizations can apply for themselves or lead a consortium of organizations collaborating on strategic climate smart planning. This is a dollar for dollar match grant that must be fulfilled by non-federal third party funding. Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS)

IMLS Inspire Grant: The IMLS Inspire Grant is meant for small to medium sized institutions, and includes three project based categories. The categories include lifelong learning, institutional capacity, and collections stewardship and access. The grant amount awarded is between $5,000 and $75,000. Collaborative Grants

Save America’s Treasures Grant: Save America's Treasures is a National Park Service grant program in collaboration with the Institute of Museum and Library Services, the National Endowment for the Arts, and the National Endowment for the Humanities.
